The Genius Index: a survey for school safety led by the Gender Public Advocacy Coalition

A useful tool from the USA: The Genius Index tracks and evaluates school district efforts to prohibit discrimination and promote gender awareness.

A USA gender monitoring tool: The GENIUS index (Gender Equality National Index for Universities and Schools). The index tracks and evaluates annually educational institutes and public K-12 school district in their efforts to prohibit discrimination and promote awareness of gender identity and expression in their student non-discrimination and anti-harassment policies. The survey for 2007 is carried out at this moment and input is requested from educators, administrators, students or parents before July 27, 2007. The survey is developed by The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition (GenderPAC), a human rights organization working to ensure that classrooms and communities are safe for all students- whether or not they fit expectations for masculinity or femininity.
